Work To Death

Y'know what I realised only recently, despite it being rather obvious for so long..?

Work is killing me.

Yup, it's as simple as that. I do of course mean beside the fact that by working, I am earning money which pays for food to keep me alive... Duh!

No, what I mean is that my choices on a work day are a lot worse than those made on my days off. Take a look.

Typical breakdown of a workday:

  • Eat a rushed breakfast, if I can be bothered.
  • 4-5 cups of coffee over an afternoon.
  • Buy a packaged lunch.
  • Smoke around 10 cigarettes throughout the day.

Typical breakdown of a day off:

  • Wake up, wash and head to the gym.
  • Come home and cook breakfast.
  • Drink coffee at breakfast and afternoon.
  • Cook a balanced dinner.
  • Smoke less than 10 cigarettes.
  • Play some video games/run errands.
It's probably just become habit to do things this way, but it's quite clear to see that I'd be a lot healthier if I had more time off work.

Unfortunately, being healthy doesn't pay the rent!

You know what you need to do then, only take 5/6 cigarettes to work, and make yourself a healthy packed lunch the night before and wake up earlier to have a better breakfast!
It does wear you down though doesn't it :(
